The Power of Stopping
I have been on vacation recently and it was a wonderful break. A break from regular routine, a chance to visit a part of the world that had always called to me. And a chance to stop. To just be, be present with my surroundings, the people and the opportunities to experience life in a different part of the world.
When was the last time you stopped? I mean, completely stopped. Even on vacation it’s difficult to do that. After all, we don’t want to miss out on that
next incredible photo or amazing experience.
And what do I mean by completely stopping anyway? Surely we can’t do that? Surely our lives are far too important to completely stop.
Today I encourage you to do exactly that. To take a few moments to stop what you’re doing, breathe, and just BE.
When we give ourselves that moment of stillness, we gift ourselves the power of aligning body, mind and spirit.
So often we rush through life. We allow our busy-ness to define our lives, our relationships and identity.
What if you gave yourself permission to stop – for just 10 seconds.
How would that feel?
How much more present would you be?
We can experience that stillness through our breath. I often teach my clients a very simple mantra which helps them to ground themselves, center and become
Breathe in… I am completely stopping. Breathe out.
Today and every day, gift yourself a moment a stillness.
10 seconds in which you allow yourself to be completely present with you.
